Happy New Year!

Hmm, looks like I'm spending the first day of the new year at home. Well, its not too bad actually. At least I can slowly take my time to plan out this year's resolutions. Should I post them here? Maybe... Or maybe not... Well, at least I will write them down somewhere so I won't forget.

One resolution though is definitely to write more often. Writing here and expressing my thoughts on somewhat random topics. Definitely.

When coming back home from work yesterday (yes I know it was new year's eve), the train was extremely crowded. Something I don't really get is, why would people want to squeeze with others just to go to some place to be squeezed with more people for the countdown? Maybe I'm just suffering from some form of social autism, hating crowds and all. But the point is, I don't see what is so interesting about dancing or partying or whatever you call it with a bunch of strangers. Oh well, maybe its just me I guess.

Hopefully 2011 would be better than last year. Ah heck, things only get tougher and worse, hardly better. Even the Earth is slowly dying. Well, if it does die, everything else would be gone wouldn't it? Heck, with so many vested interests no wonder countries don't want to cooperate efficiently to stop climate change. Or have we gone beyond the point of no return? I really don't know.

Hmm, it may seem that this post may be a bit too early... Or maybe not since the year is ending in 27 hours from where I am? This year sure was eventful.

Let's recap the major highlights for me this year:

Hmm, for some strange reason its only the A levels that I can remember about.

Well, prom was kinda major event, but not really too important for me to remember? Or maybe not? Is it why I can't remember most of my childhood? Is it due to the fact that they have no significance and therefore have no importance to be in my memory?

The year is coming to a close no matter what happens. Another chapter in my life is coming to a close as well. Maybe I should just look forward and forget about the past. Why do humans have eyes on facing the front? Because we are meant to look forward and not back. Simple as that.

Work

I'm really starting to think this is really true. If you find a job that you love, then you will never have to work a day in your life because you are doing what you love. Doing what you love is not a chore, it is of your own interest and something that you love to do. Not out of obligation, but simply of your own free will. Then work would not be work anymore.

Sorry, today's my second day of work. Yes, I've learnt a lot already even though it is just my second day. And tomorrow's my off day, so I'm writing tonight. As you can tell from my tone, I really do not love this job. Yes, my colleagues are really nice and friendly, workload is not as tough as expected, but still, I'm not doing something that I enjoy, but out of obligation instead to get an income.

I'm sure many would be facing the "problem" of having a job one does not love, but instead does it for a livelihood, for survival. In a Utopian world, everyone would have a job they love and not out of obligation. Unfortunately, in reality, Utopia does not exist. Perfect happiness, whether in work or play, can only be dreamed of.

Since this post is more about work, I will write more from my own perspective. I know my view may be limited in some ways, but it is still my view, and I have a right to express it. You may disagree with me, I will not really mind. After all, such issues are debatable.

So, with working experience of only a few months in a variety of part-time jobs over long school breaks, I have come to a conclusion that looking for a job one loves is really difficult.

Reasons?

Number one, one may not have the necessary qualifications to do that job.

Number two, there may not be such a job available in the market.

These two reasons, are the main reasons from my perspective that are stopping people for getting the job they love. for the second reason, there is no way one can change the situation. For the first, although it is possible, it is still difficult to change the situation unless one has enough time.

Reflection

Look into a mirror and what do you see? Someone who is happy? Or sad? Angry? Upset? Disappointed? Guilty? Tired? Depressed? You get the idea. Been reading Harry Potter again. Still quite intrigued by the Mirror of Erised (spelling Erised backwards is desire for those who still didn't notice). It shows a man's greatest desire in any circumstances when one looks into it. Quoting from Dumbledore or something similar said by him, a man who is completely happy will only see himself as he is like a normal mirror when viewing through the mirror. I don't really remember the exact phrasing so don't blame me. At least the idea is there.

So back to the question of what do you see when you look in the mirror. In this case the mirror is now changed to the Mirror of Erised. I really don't know what is my heart's desire. Perhaps its to get straight As? I really don't know. But one day I hope that it will be a normal mirror for me, to be free of other desires. Contentment is really the key to happiness. Or is it?

That is something worth thinking about...

Reality

Just one more paper left then the A levels will be over. Well that is really more on the happy side. Been thinking about alot of things lately given so much free time. Weird how one's mind starts to wander when it is not put to use. Mine included as well, or maybe more than others. I don't really know.

Reality, the main idea of this post. What is reality? What is real or what is just a figment of our imagination? Could the life we are living now be just a dream? Watched Inception recently, also the Matrix. All these highlighted, is it a possibility we are trapped in similar circumstances? I'm also thinking about alternate timelines. The many what ifs that could possibly change the way we live now. I mean, I've been thinking, is there a possibility of many alternate universes? With many events having different possible outcomes, just that with one timeline there is one outcome? There would be countless branches of different timelines, i.e. different universes. I have a feeling that they are all parallel and never to meet, after all when a timeline bends, everything that ever existed in that timeline would be destroyed along with the one it collides with. That's just some random theorey. Maybe in another timeline, I wouldn't even be thinking about this at all. Who knows? It is interesting to think of such matters and what really constitutes to reality and the world we live in. No? Maybe its because of the ample free time I have that is causing my thoughts to run amok. But still, it is quite enjoyable to think of such things. Right?

I guess I am in a really philosophical or random mood. It happens when my mind isn't sufficiently occupied I guess. Oh well back to revision then.

For those who are familiar with poker, the title of this post might seem kinda strange. Well after all, it is only when one is really confident that one will, well, All In. Or for me its the other perspective when I have nothing to lose. Seriously, the A levels are coming to an end already with a few more papers to go. Since this is my last chance, I will go for All In when tackling the remaining papers. I've got a really bad feeling that Chemistry Paper 1 will be yet another killer paper. After the previous two having a killer status given to them, it may be natural to think that the last one will be more managable. No! In fact I know it will be much tougher! Ok, what really gets my goat is that Biology paper 3 is on the same day as Chemistry. Well, having two content heavy papers on the same day is really exhausting.

More about today's events. I cleared out all my other unnecessary notes and they formed a mountain. Maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but there are still lots of notes. I really wonder how many trees I've killed in the last two years. Any idea? Well, back to the old story of wasting resources, etc, etc. This never fails to pop up at random intervals. You get my point?

Less than 24 hours left till the next paper. Time seems to fly so fast when you want it to slow down. I'm only 50% confident that I will do well for tomorrow's paper.

Four more papers to the end of the A level examinations. I'm just wondering why year after year, examinations continue again and again. Sure, its one batch after another, but the resources used to carry out this examination is... Well, alot! Imagine how much paper is used during the examinations, not to mention the huge carbon footprint since our scripts are shipped all the way to UK to be marked and the certificates as well, huge amounts of paper! Well that's my point. The thing is, is it really necessary at all? Well eventually there will be a day without the need of paper during examinations. At least it will help prevent trees from being cut down and all... Or are our scripts recycled after they have been marked and the grades recorded? I really don't know... Perhaps it is why there are no changes in grades despite appeals... Hmm, what do you think?

Anyway, Economics will be tested tomorrow, and I am really nervous about it. Its one of my weaker subjects, so I think it is natural for me to have this reaction. Biology and Chemistry on Monday, then Biology more than a week later. The end really is in sight. One thing though, what would I do with my life after that? Sure, there's prom, but after that what? I applied to be a relief teacher and wonder how my application will go. If I am sucessful, there goes my trip with my friends since I will be stuck here in Singapore.

So the end is in sight. Does it signify a new beginning as well?

Sigh... Its raining in my world now... I'm without an umbrella, being pelted by the raindrops, buffeted by the wind. I'm soaked to the skin, shivering and cold. I'm alone, neglected and facing the elements alone. There are others around me, yet treat me as though invisible.

I know its been a long time since I last blogged. A levels, studying, other random stuff... Probably also too lazy to blog as well. I don't know why but I suddenly just feel like blogging for some strange reason. Maybe its because I have an urge to write again? I don't know. But in any case, I'm back! Plus the skin has been changed from the old one. And I think it looks pretty neat don't you think? At the very least its just a one page blog. Well, I'm really lazy, and can't be bothered to add extra stuff, like music, to it for now. So it shall remain as it is for now, till maybe December?

Put in a new tagboard, had no idea where the heck I put the code the last time, so I made a new one. Its completely empty... By some miracle I found the links, so if there are any updates, tag and let me know.

The A level papers up till now so far are... Well, it varies from paper to paper, so no comment on the level of difficulty of each paper. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Econs though, and hopefully can do well.

Well, during this period, many will find it stressful and tiring, and will most likely be miserable. So I'm ending off with a quote this time:

hmmm, today was a rather busy day...

morning woke up bright and early n headed off to lorong chuan mrt. mrs kang, our teacher in charge for the NUS Chancellor's Challenge Shield gave a few of us a lift to nus since we were living around the area.

the quiz was conducted in NUS, and it was like in the medical school. its like wah... someday, i'll be inside there studying medicine as well. the lt there was damn nice... chairs were extremely comfortable. not like the ones in school lol. u could actually lean back against the chair. lol. haha, my team mates say i like damn retarded, but i dun really care.

ok, first off was the mcq part. idk alot, i mean ALOT of questions. in the end anyhow whack. hopefully won't pull my team down. oh yea, this year's CCS is different from previous years cuz got an AQ section. yah! AQ! wa this damn hiong... but in the end still managed to do it la. luckily is do as a team ^^ if not confirm GeeGee alrdy. lol, yea, i'm still addicted to SNSD.

speaking of which, i added another chapter to the fanfic that i'm currently writing ^^ its damn shiok to see all the comments and compliments others give you. and writing fanfics is my way of reliving stress la. so ya... but anyway its lots of fun, and great to see people commenting ^^

hmmm, still got a bit of chem to finish up... i guess i'll complete it tomorrow. i dun wan to be copying stuff again for chem. yup. hmmm, tmr oso need mug a bit so yea... anyway bt1 is like so soon... i'm alrdy starting to feel some pressure... GP BT1 is on friday... stress...

yup, so today was bz but fun. the quiz was fun, writing out my fanfic was fun. yup. it feels great to do what is fun all day. hmmm, ah yes... results for mother tongue... a bit disappointing... but i'll live... yup, decided not to retake. been calculating everything... not worth the effort. later retake den come out worse than before, then GeeGee.

damn sad that Yuri got down with H1N1... Yuri noona, gws ok?? lol, its not that she will ever read my blog... but, still its ok to show concern wad right??

ok, as some of you might have caught me spazzing over my copy of snsd's latest album: Oh!, yup, i got it alrdy ^_^ so happy when i finally got it, although the wait nearly killed me lols

ok school is still the usual crap... now my grades are sucky... sadded T_T at least the teachers are nice ^_^

hopefully our new pe teacher doesn't turn out to be some pt maniac :X lols, but he seems quite ok, played frisbee for the 1st pe lesson with him lols

and... Oh! em Gee! my skin is so very outdated... must change lols. another reason why i didn't wanna post :X

wow, 2010 got alot of new songs... some of which is very nice *cough*oh*cough* lols, being a fanboy again. hmmm, i'm a loner from c.n. blue is a nice song. for the ballad lovers sunflower by gavy nj should be your cup of tea. in any case, the songs are alrdy weeks old, so u probably might have heard of them if you're an avid kpop fan like me ^o^

ahh yes, another solo male singer kim jong kook is back! his new album has many nice songs as well!

basically its just lessons, lessons n more lessons... completely no time for slacking D: maybe got a bit la haha, but still not much.

ok, my weekend plans was "foiled" when i needed to help my dad with sales on sat at alexandra hospital. lol, i didnt noe SA ppl were doing cip for e same event. yep, met classmates: felicia n lixia, n some cca mates: kunyi, ziye n ruowen.

ok, actually i didnt regret helping my dad out, cuz i got some contacts from the physio department of AH. hmm, i maybe applying for additional attachments besides my work-shadowing, anw mre exposure is good right? haha, i feel so proud tat i can change e situation to my own advantage and get benefits :D

ok, today i overslept. woke up at arnd 10.30 dis morning haha. n spent the day studying chinese... chinese a levels coming liao so must chiong! i dun wan take chinese for another year D: really waste time :x not that i dun like chinese, but i wuld prefer using the time to study other subs next year wad... esp my econs...

and oh yea, i edited my skin again :D it looks much bigger cuz i tampered with e base codes, for best viewing, view it at resolution 1280 x 1024 or larger. hmmm, although i still havent finish cropping out their individual pics... :/

realised that i'm just randomly crapping haha... sad that soompi has yet to list down the weekly music rankings... argh... nvm, tmr then check :D

ok, 3rd day of hols... basically these few days are like just S&S. S&S stands for studying and sleeping. yea...

ok, so basically, i just study all morning, take a short nap in e afternoon, den continue studying again. yea, dat's abt it. study, sleep, study, sleep, study, sleep...

ok, i figured that this holiday is going to be wasted on S&S only. maybe i should just get rid of the sleeping part? o.O that might make it even more productive... nah, i dun think so...

oh yea, forgot to include all e other stuff like eating, drinking, etc., etc. but basically the bulk of my time is spent on S&S... man, i realli no life... ok, sometimes call ppl, or sms ppl while studying! lol.

yea, basically this holiday is going to be gone soon... and its kinda no life... better get all the S&S i can b4 e promos... must ace the promos so need more of Studying to brush up my knowledge, and Sleeping to recharge... yup... chiong S&S :D

Mama Chong: thank you for teaching me math, n forcing us to do all e tys n everything. its really paying off in jc, especially now teaching differentiation. i'm realli surprised that i can remember most of e stuff. oh yea, u are one of the best teachers i ever had :)

Mdm Neo: thx for teaching me geog. although i m not taking geog now, u have taught me many other things. n i have not and will never repeat the same BIG mistake i made before...

Mr Ng (黄老师): 谢谢您教了我两年的华文。帮我打好基础。我现在JC里还得修读华文，实话说，我认为H1华文比高级华文容易多了。:D

i cant really remeber all of you, but the thing is you all have made significant impact on my life in one way or another, so i will still like to say a BIG thank you to all, and happy teachers' day! :D

ytd was celebration for teachers' day. didnt really want to go to sch cuz got aces day :/ anw realli kinda unwilling to go cuz i wanted go back sec sch... so at e end of e concert i just chiong to amk. den met up wif my some of my sec sch frens frm 4/1. ok, had lunch at some jap cafe in amk hub... damn ex >.< so anw, we later wanted go pool, unfortunately its full... so we hung arnd, den went to arcade afterwards. saw more frens frm my class (i tot dis was supposed to be a class outing? O.o), den they went off watch move, but i didnt cuz meeting pri sch frens :)

ok, so went 2 find yc at tpy. he was dere like damn loner, waiting alone, eating choc! lucky he standing outside e station if not kena $30 fine lols. ok, den shermaine n hee ai joined us, den we heck care went to orchard liao. we went swensens :D dere e food quite nice, although we didnt go for e buffet hahaha. so its kinda waste tym go dere? anw, we had to wait v. long for all e ppl to come... maybe yc u nxt tym say e time is earlier la, so no need wait so long haha.

after dinner, we hung arnd, dunno whr to go. in e end go pool at dhoby. den play pool, v. fun. :D play until arnd 10.40 den i zao 1st, cuz realli tired. lost my way back 2 e mrt... but found my way in e end. i didnt realise so late still got so many ppl, cuz dere were no seats on e mrt o.o

smsed a few ppl on e mrt, if not i really will fall asleep, STANDING! lol. i reali damn tired wad haha.

dis morn woke up arnd 10... den just watched a bit of tv, den ownself mug at home... cant find anyone for mugging session... or maybe i just lazy organise? :0 idk, most prob is lazy haha :D

haha, first time blogging in school lols... imma at e sch lib now using e comp here hahaha... basically now got break before OP workshop (i think goin 2 be damn waste time) which will last until 6.30 D:

yea, today end very late... sian, i still haven finish my eom for final submission... i wanna get EE for my eom lors... the 2nd draft was onli ME and high ME for GI and A&E respectively... :( its very very very sucky... MUST CHIONG FOR PW! RAWR!!!

ok, enuf whining... most of MSA results got back liao, except for GP n Econs...

ok, i cant believe my luck, two days in a row early dismissal :)

ok, so today had bio msa n chem spa... chem spa ar, not mock spa. the real thing... so today's chem spa was wow. at the end, the percentage error is like less than 1%? O.o guess i'm lucky haha :)

not e same wif bio msa... screwed up... last qn gone 7 marks... haiz... wad is done cannot be undone... sad la... unless i get full marks for mcq (which is highly unlikely), sayonara A for bio in MSA2...

this is my definition of the different grades (dun flame me for this, this is just for my own gauge, the standards i want to achieve):
A - acceptable
B - bad
C - crap
D - dung?
E - "exceeds expectation"
S - suck
U - unimaginable

ok so that's my view of me getting each grade... in short, i wanna get A for everything in promos! GYAHHH, chiong mug ar!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow, it was raining this morning. when i woke up, the weather is so nice and cool that i fell asleep again.

ok, i slept in until arnd 10 plus (wow new personal record) and i woke up feeling very stiff (too much sleep alrdy i think).

ok dun go into that liaos. today is just slack, slack n more slack. :) in fact i dun think i've done much work at all (unless its that i packed my bag? o.O). oh ya speaking of which, i m happy to say that it is washed very clean :) no ants remain in there le haha. next tym cannot put any candy inside my bag otherwise i forget then GG liao hahahaha

i mean like its very mafan to first empty the bag, den wash the bag, den dry the bag, den put the stuff back in the bag again. i guess its just a lesson learnt e hard way :/

ok, that's all that happened today until now (cuz most of e time spent sleeping...) maybe i shud go mug a bit later to revise... MSA is like so near liao n yet i still so slack... feel a bit guilty, especially when my CT results sucks :/ maybe a few questions on maths, n an essay on econs to revise will do. oh yea, since econs still got work i might as well just do some parts first, later got less to do :)

i just realised my tagboard kinda half-dead... maybe its cuz i'm too free? i srsly need reconsider how i spend my time... (seeing my falling grades) and oh still got that damn pw, next tym when got time must do i dun wan last min chiong again den no need sleep :/

the long awaited nationl day! :)

lol, a bit hyper haha. ok dis morning some random thing happened to me. i was like taking out my work to do frm my bag n den i saw this cockroach flying out of my bag! n i was like OMG y is there a cockroach in my bag?! turns out i left some candy in my bag and forgot to clear it den got cockroach appear... there were also quite a lot of ants in there as well... its like a colony inside there or smth... luckily my worksheets nvr kena, however, saddly, my GC was inside the same compartment as the cockroach was, n i had to disinfect it... :/ oh in fact i had my bag washed lols now all my stuff are just lying arnd in my room, very messy... wish my bag faster dry den can put my stuff back in :)

since today's national day, i m in some NE mood today :) suddenly i rmbr e stuff abt s'pore n how s'pore became independent :) ok, s'pore was part of malaysia in 1963, den broke e merger on dis day in 1965. 44 years hav passed n here we are today, a rich and prosperous nation. :) so lucky to be born in singapore, a place of eternal summer :) it can get boring at times cuz too hot liao :/ ah nvm, can go snow city when free haha :) ok enuf crapping abt NE stuff liaos, although i feel that really despite s'pore's success, she can never become a utopia (a.k.a. a perfect world). in fact there is no such thing as a perfect world, or is there o.O

yay!!! finally made the new blogskin :)

ok, if u're wondering what are all those things as the pics, they are pokemon lol :x
it might sound lame, but i m a pokemon fan :)

ok the five pokemon featured in my blog are umbreon, espeon, vaporeon, flareon, jolteon. they all evolved from the same pokemon eevee :) sadly didn't put any pics of it there, idk how fit it in... oh yea, eevee has also 2 other evolutions leafeon and glaceon. ok they are all different types, and hence can adapt to the enviroment they are at, making eevee very versatile...

so it's eevee's ability to adapt that amazes me, making it one of my favourite pokemon (although pikachu is e best to me) then i just realised its smth like natural selection (lol, digressing to bio here) that leads to evolution of species. survival of the fittest :)

yep, so that is the story behind my new blogskin as promised :)

this week, up till now is extremely draining... >.<

just today, there is alrdy mock chem spa...

pw is starting to take a toll on my body... my classmates seem to be falling sick one by one... ok, this sounds a bit like the harper's island show... no pun intended haha

ok, short summary of the week until now:

-chiong gp essay which is like long overdue

-chiong eom 2nd draft (i re-edited it 3 times before submitting it as the 2nd draft)

-just chionged wr draft last night (now very tired lols)

-gp test (mr randy keeps interrupting my chain of thought :x sry mr randy if u're seeing this)

-mock chem spa (titration :0 lucky can finish haha)

so that's abt it... nth realli special happened or wad so ever... at least this is all i can remeber in my sleep deprived state...

Ok...

Today i had econs test n the question is like very weird... I was literally stunned there for like about half a min after seeing the question cuz what i've been mugging for is relevant but idk how apply it to e question :x

So, u might be wondering wad question is it, the part (a) is smth like explain how does production and consumption in Singapore result in inefficient allocation of resources. n part (b) is discuss methods of how S'pore govt might overcome these inefficiencies... S'pore context questions n i'm realli stunned... nvr expected this :x

Enuf abt e stupid econs test... hopefully still can pass... hope e marker mark me 0 cuz i like nvr link properly to e qn >.< oh ya n during the test i was like chiongin out all e points... it was like some sort of word diahorea cuz i just kept spamming n spamming all e econs until my hand spasm...

luckily over in 45 mins, but sadly didnt manage to complete it... :( maybe i shuld train my writing speed so can write faster. oh ya den gp oso can write more haha...

okay, i have finally fixed the blog up. yime for some reflecting 2 do... my CT results could have been better of course... And my results are f**ked up to me cuz i noe dat i could have done much better >.<
